It's been a while since I took the time to do some composition studies. Here's a Frazetta. Usual disclaimers about my having no idea if any of this is right or not, this is just what I'm taking away about a tiny bit of what's at work in the design. I find it helpful to do these because I could easily spend all day drawing people in action poses without making a picture that communicates any movement or force. There's obviously a lot more going on in here than I can put a finger on.
